Snow Dyeing - inspired by Greta

Inspired by Greta and the lovely sun and winter weather I decided to try snow dyeing with Procion MX. For the moment it is still outside where I hope the sun will start thawing the snow. I put the fabric on 10 cm ice and snow and covered it with another 10 cm. As it seemed frozen I have used salt on top of the snow. So now I'll just have to wait.

This is the result of my snow-dying. It was so easy, no mess, and wow - what colours! There is a good chance one of these will end as the background of my Carnival-quilt - that is if I don't come up with something better.

Looks like I'm in.

As a preparation for my Carnival-quilt, I have just tried snow-dying some fabric. I'm still waiting to rinse it, maybe later tonight.

Latitude Quilts ... the beginning

Pre-Xmas activities means a longish warm-up to get onto my first piece.   However lots of colour & movement is percolating away - in readiness for our reveal date of 31 January 2013.
