November. Escape from grayness.

I could not cook up where or from whom to escape for a long time. I broke down my mind… So finally I decided to forget about this theme for a while.

But time runs so quickly and suddenly I realized that there is only one week remains till reveal day. I haven’t started to sew yet… I even don’t have any idea… I can not postpone this any more!

So, I was sitting in my sewing room with a cup of coffee, the weather behind the window was hateful: rain, cold, everything is totally grey and black… I hate such weather! Such days in our sunny city usually happen in November so I don’t like this month.

And in my sewing room was warm, a lot of bright patches around and a cup of coffee. WOW! This is an idea!
“November. Escape from grayness.”
I have an idea and it’s time to sew! And it takes two days to make!

  1. Great quilt. Chases the grey away without leaving the room!

  2. I like the ghost cup of coffee and the idea of escaping from the November grey. I did that by emigrating! UK also has grey miserable Novembers.

  3. This is very effective - love the beading raindrops, and the symbolism of the cuppa waiting inside a cheery room.

  4. Very well done! Very effective way of showing how we can cocoon ourselves from the dull and dreary by surrounding ourselves with the warmth and colour of the fabrics that we love.

  5. Great concept! I particulary like the contrast of grey against colour. Lots of lovely detail.

  6. I love your quilt, there seems to be a tussle going on between colour and grey gloom. Colour is winning. I particularly like the little motifs in the squares, they intensify the feel of the two sides. Sun verses little storm clouds. Great quilt

  7. Hi really like this piece, Lyuda, your use of the grey and colours merging into each other and layering of different fabric is wonderful. Great concept!
