Oops!
Balance has been a challenge just lately, which is probably why the image that came to mind was one showing what can go wrong when balance is not achieved.
The quilt gave me the opportunity to play with some new materials and use a variety of methods to construct it. It also provided a challenge as "good ideas" went wrong and had to be overcome.
Materials used: textile paints, inktense pencils, misty fuse, bondaweb,
hand dyed and commercial fabrics, and sequins from a very old bag of
odds and ends

Lovely peace. Love the quilting too.
ReplyDeleteThat is a charming little quilt, lovely work
ReplyDeleteSorry, I mean piece.
ReplyDeleteNo worries, I thought that was what you meant!
ReplyDeleteYou were totally right to finish this. The seesaw is the only common image. I love the expression on your 'faces' and the energy and humour that radiates out of your work.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Great humour in the details of this piece. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, very well presented and beautifully worked!
ReplyDeleteHi Margy, What a great piece! Similar but not the same as Linden's, as Julia says, the see-saw is a common image and naturally associated with balance. I love the expressions that you have achieved and wonderful execution.
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I love it Margy. I'm so glad you followed through - yours and mine will make great little companion pieces if we ever put on a show!
ReplyDeleteLinden
A very cute and whimsical quilt. Like Linden´s it will be a nice addition to a child´s room or nursery.
