I know what you will answer

What a capacious word LOVE.
It has so many meanings: love to children, love to man, love to parents, love to nature, love to quilting and so on and so on.

The idea came out really quickly. I wanted to dedicate this quilt to our love – my husband and me. I wanted to do a lot of handwork so “boro” style has been chosen.

Colours and forms of scraps symbolize our characters.

Very often while sitting together quietly I ask my husband: ”May I ask you?”
He:      I know what you will ask.
I:          I know what you will answer.
He:      Yes, I love you!
I:          I love you too.

Is this love?

  3. What a wonderfully personal representation of your love! I think it's great that you did your stitching by hand, literally putting yourself into this quilt.

  8. I like your hand stitching very much as it adds great texture to the piece. You call the style of the hand embroidery for "boro style" I thought it was Kanta embroidery, perhaps it has different name in different parts of the world. All the same, a lovely colorful piece with lots of emotions in it.

  10. The quilt shows very well two different halves/people, who are connected in love. I like the use of the many fabric scraps and the overall handstitching.
