This quilt speaks to what I can only aspire to experience
every single day; a quiet moment with a nice cup of tea. My attempt was to keep this piece simple in design as well as in color palette. Personal
references were injected via an oil stick rubbing over heavy lace fabric (a
curtain that hung in my childhood home) as well as an appliqué featuring my
mischievous starling ( a bird who shares my home today).
This is a warm and peaceful quilt that looks like reflection and daydreaming. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI love these colours. A gorgeous piece. I want that bird!
ReplyDeleteLove your little bird, again!
ReplyDeleteI like the quilt!
ReplyDeleteI love tea, blue and your beautiful, peaceful quilt.
ReplyDeleteLovely colors, gorgeous piece and the little bird again. My choice is coffee but I wish I had such a great little bird.
ReplyDeleteHeidi, this is Serenity Plus! It makes me feel so calm - it is beautiful.

So lovely to spot your little bird again. There is such a delicate feel to that cup of tea. I do like the texture of the hand stitching with the shading of colour along the bottom
ReplyDeleteYou evoke a wonderful sense of serenity with this piece (it's interesting that the quilt brought to mind exactly the same word for Pamela and I). You may call this quilt simple in design, but it is loaded with small, wonderful details and elements that make it really rich.
